Saturday Crusade

Well, we are at the end of yet another life changing mission trip. The crusade was awesome, and by far the biggest event most of us have been a part of. We saw around 10,000 people on Friday and the same on Saturday. We saw 2,000 salvations on Friday and I am not sure about Saturday yet. Pastor Jake shared his testimony tonight and lead people to Jesus. It was simply so amazing to see him do that. At the end of the night there was a big party atmosphere and we all celebrated what God has done. Check out some vids.

As for this year’s trip, wow. Every person on our team has had an encounter with God in some way. All of our students were able to share their testimony or cast the net (altar call) at least one time on this trip. Being on missions is so good. It always refocuses us closer to the heart of God. It propels our passion for God and compassion for people.

Have a great day and we will see you all on Monday!

Friday Crusade

The crusade was powerful. There were thousands of people all over, responding to the Lord for salvation and healing. Check out some vids…

Day Four

Ministry was so great today. There is way too much to share…so here is a few clips. This morning we made calls home over skype, which was interesting. The internet kept going in and out. ;) In the afternoon we did our drama at several street corners. One of our most favorite sites today was this playground set in the midst of mountains. There was about 100 students which we ministered to. Our kids loved hanging out with them. On the way home our bus died and we had to push it to jump start it. In the evening we had an intentional time of ministry with just our team. Really, we don’t want this to be only about a great mission trip. It’s about these kids’ lives. We want them to be shaped on the inside. We had a powerful, 4 hour service. Ask the students about Level19. This is what it is all about, living on Level 19 (the highest level in our hotel).

Day Three

It is almost 1:30a so this one will be short…sorry. This morning we saw pastor Jake speak to 5,500 students. It was a great opportunity for our students to see their youth pastor speak to so many. Our team performed the bondage as well. In the afternoon we had two sites in the center of Lima. They were both packed with people. I know that over 60 people responded to the salvation call given by Zack Snyder! Praise God. In the evening we went to a mini crusade. We experienced a great time of worship, full of life. We got back close to midnight and are ready to do this again early tomorrow.

We are planning on having our students call home tomorrow in the a.m. They will be calling your phones through skype, so the number will be unfamiliar. Please answer it anyway ;) . We love and miss you, Milan.

Day Two

Today was incredible.

God showed us that it truly is not by our might nor power, but by His Spirit. Our speaker system died within seconds during our first drama at the beginning of the day. The team finished the drama without any music. A large crowd gathered anyway. We used our voices to shout present the gospel, just like Jesus did way back when. Many people responded. For our second drama, we rented a tricycle with an attached megaphone from a guy selling cookies for $20. We used his system to amplify our voices and the music. I was really proud of our kids for giving their best under crazy circumstances.

Later in the day we did more ministry sites throughout Lima. We get a police escort everywhere. They close down streets for us to do the drama. They watch out for us during it. One site gathered over 200 people in just a few minutes. People here are more open to respond to the gospel. Later in the evening we did a mini crusade. Pastor Jake spoke and was as bold as a lion! The anointing was incredible. People were saved and healed, with specific testimonies of healing on stage. One thing we as leaders are believing God for is a demonstration of His power…in such a way that will give our students a fresh revelation of Him. He is not a God from a history book. He is alive today. They saw that tonight.

The students are doing well. Some aches here and there, tylenol for headaches, bruised knees…standard stuff. Our schedule is PACKED. We got up at 6a and today we returned to our rooms to check out for the night at 11:15p. But hey, it’s all worth it. God’s love compels us to give our all. To give our very best. Please continue to pray.

Much love, Milan.

Day One Vids

Day One

Hey guys! Wow it has been a very busy and a very great day. I feel like we haven}t stopped since Sunday. :) Both of our ignited teams did ministry all day today in various parts of Lima. We would just go to marketplaces, streetcorners, etc…set up our station, shared testimonies, dramas, and presented the gospel. Many people responded for salvation. We also prayed for healing, Our team is doing great. Everybody is healthy. A few minor scratches, but nothing big. Oh yeah, we are keeping up with all the meds you parents sent us. We are watching over your kids as if they were our own. We love them. Right now is 5:30pm. Just got back to the hotel. In a little its time for dinner and then night ministry in the streets of Lima. Please pray for us. Not onto us, but unto God be the glory. Only He can changes lives. We will try to post a few vids soon!

Much love, Milan.

We made it

Hello everyone who loves us. We are all doing great! We landed quite late last night and didn’t get into our rooms until around 2am. We got to sleep in until around 8am and then had a great breakfast. The hotel we are staying at is amazing. The team is out doing ministry now and i (jacob) just went to the crusade grounds. God is going to do great miracles in the hearts of thousands this week. We will give you a more detailed post later tonight.

Love ya All,

Jacob

Peru 2010

This is the beginning of Ignited’s blog for Peru missions. We will try to post updates daily from August 1st to August 9th. We are so excited to have the privilege of going and fulfilling the great commission around the world. God is good. We are believing that both the lives of the natives and of our students will be forever changed. If you have questions or want to leave a message feel free to post a comment and we will do our best to answer or pass it on. Remember, we will look after your kids as if they were our own. Their safety is our #1 priority.

God bless, your Ignited leaders.

All great things must come to an end

Friday was our last ministry day. It was also the longest day of our lives. We met down in the lobby at 4:30am and did not return from ministry until 2:00am the next day. Wow. (Sorry we didn’t get Carli’s Mag video in, we were all barely alive ;) ) The ministry was great. We did some door to door inviting to pastor Tom’s (our Houston contact) church, a team was also at a park and go, where hundreds of people park to take the bus to work. We would hand them a granola bar and an invitation to church.

I must mention the donut man, because he is one of my favorite stories of this trip. After I dropped the kids off for door to door, I had to go #2 so bad. I mean SO BAD. I thought, but who is open at 5am? I started driving down the street and all of a sudden this little DONUT MAN shop appears. Inside was an asian man, his wife, and a 2yr old baby girl. What was it about him that impacted me the most? Perhaps it was his generosity. After he found out about our group, he gave our kids 3 bags of fresh made donuts, gave us a bunch of drinks for free. Our group came in later to sit down and his wife brought us trays of free donut holes. Wow. He said the Lord showed him it it more blessed to give than to receive. He loved the Lord. Opening his shop at 5am each day, he gets up at 2am to spend time with the Lord. I asked him when he goes to sleep and he said after he talks to and thanks the One at the end of the day. I found myself thinking about my commitment to the Lord, and how much complaining and excuses I have for not getting up to spend time with my Savior. God used the donut man to impact my life.

In the evening our team helped to facilitate a “Christian night” at a water park. From 7-11pm we helped facilitate various games. There was about 1,000 people. Let me just say that the crowd felt very inner city. At 11pm everything shut down and a service began. A few hundred young people stuck around for that. A rapper performed, and after that our team did the bondage. Pastor Tom spoke some and right before the altar call we did the drama Everything. I felt like it really captured the attention of the crowd, it was anointed. Our kids we giving their 110% on this tiny stage. A couple hundred of responded to the altar call. Thank you God.

All great things must come to an end. I believe that what happened on the inside of our teenagers in Houston will continue to live on back home. God used our team here to impact many, and changed our lives in the process. He is good.
